Perspective Ottawa is happy to create this form of user input.  More than just an internet poll where voters can vote and vote often, Perspective Ottawa Polls (POP) is designed to give a more accurate feedback on what  readers feel about current topics.

How it works

POP uses Short Message Service (SMS) technology to communicate with you in real time.  That is, whenever Perspective Ottawa issues a poll, you are sent a text message to your cell phone or smart phone giving you the polling question.  All you need to do is to reply with the code that corresponds to your desired answer. (Note: Text messages may arrive from a non 613 area code but you will know its from Perspective Ottawa because the first word of the text will be “POP”).

As soon as you reply to this message your response is tabulated.  Poll results are updated in real time on the POP website.  You will receive an acknowledgement text confirming your response is counted.

It’s simple to sign up.  Just click the button and you will be taken to a secure sign up page to register you in the program.  That’s all there is to do.

Unsubscribing

Only poll messages to which you reply are tabulated.  But if you wish to stop receiving the poll questions all together, then please e-mail me the the word “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject line.  Send emails to pop@PerspectiveOttawa.com and your number will be removed from the database.
