Mr. Stringer was born and raised in Ottawa and is a longtime resident of Kitchissippi Ward.

He holds several degrees including a B.A from the University of Ottawa (political science and philosophy) and a post masters degree (diplôme étude supérieur spécialisé) from the University of Paris in diplomacy and international relations.

He is married to Blandine Stringer (née Badoz) of Paris, France and they have two sons both of whom are graduates of Nepean High School. Mr. Stringer is a communications consultant and small business person.
