Scott Moffatt

Scott was born and raised on the family farm in old Rideau Township.  As a boy, he attended Kars Public School, like his father, and eventually attended South Carleton High School, the same school in which his parents met.  Scott earned a degree from Carleton University studying History, Political Science, and Law.  He has spent recent years working as a manager in the Golf industry.

Scott’s family has a deeply rooted history in the Rideau-Goulbourn area and he follows in their footsteps with his desire to represent the communities in which he was raised.  His paternal grandparents, Harry & Hilda Moffatt, operated a farm on the First Line and were very active in the community.  Their farm has been in the family since 1852 and remains with Scott’s parents to this day.  His maternal grandparents, Sumner & Hilda Moore, spent their lives in the Richmond area.  Sumner was a former police officer and Hilda worked for many years at South Carleton High School. Hilda Moore is still very active in the Richmond Legion and the Goulbourn Historical Society.

Since he was young,  Scott has had an interest in politics and his community.  He has spent several years  volunteering for the Conservative Party of Canada and  the South Carleton High School hockey team.  Scott has also sat on the board of directors for the Conservative Party and Watson’s Mill.  Scott is currently a proud member of Manotick Kiwanis and active in the work done by Kiwanis in our communities.

Scott currently lives in a century home in North Gower with his wife and their two children.  North Gower is also the home of  the Marlborough Pub & Eatery, co-owned by Scott’s brother, Steve.
