About

For years, my slogan has been politics is about making things better. My politics has been a testament to that belief. I have no real party affiliation as I believe there are bright stars in all political parties.

Maybe, that is why I have a special attraction to municipal politics in Ontario. There are no party affiliations. Politicians win on their merit. You can vote for fiscal conservative policies while making sure that the least lucky in life have a place to sleep and food to eat.

For the past four years, BlakeBatson.ca, Perspective Ottawa, has been my musings about a better politics for the people. Not just municipally, but provincially, federally and abroad as well. I take keen interest in shedding light with my perspective on important issues. And I hope my perspective adds to the dialogue in a constructive way.

The new BlakeBatosn.ca will seek to expand those views. Not only will I bring to you my points of view. I will highlight the priorities of other through my guest bloggers section. Guest bloggers will write about anything that they believe is pertinent in their world. Who knows, it might strike a chord with you.

So, for all my long time readers, thank you for your loyalty and support. I hope you enjoy the new and expanded BlakeBatson.ca. And for all my new readers, I hope you will bookmark this page and check back often…maybe someday offering to be a guest blogger.

Working to make things better,

Mini Bio

Blake Batson is an entrepreneur who spent over 20 years in the high tech industry before venturing off into politics. Even though just a sideline, his political endeavours clearly are important to him.

Working as a consultant to businesses, Blake finds time to work with low income housing projects and recreation for youth. But his priority in making things better for seniors.

Seniors are the fastest growing demographic in North American society but it is the sector given the least amount of planning and forethought. Incongruent policies and lack of focus and purpose by all levels of government has made seniors issues the single largest social policy challenge facing the country in the 21stcentury.

Outside of politics, Blake enjoys traveling, time with his family and restful Sundays in front of the TV watching the all news stations.
