A resident of Bay Ward for over 15 years, GJ Hagenaars has first hand knowledge of the challenges facing the area. From crime and vandalism, to snow removal and public transit issues, his goal is to find lasting solutions to the needs of the community–so residents can feel even more pride in calling Bay Ward home.

Throughout his career working in small and large companies and as a business owner, GJ has had to juggle such priorities as defining strategic direction, leading employees and managing large budgets. Hagenaars is also an active member of the Ottawa community, having volunteered in many local events, including the Ottawa Tulip Festival and the National Capital Airshow
