BREAKING NEWS
The city has replaced OC Transpo General Manager Alain Mercier with John Manconi, the former General Manager of Public Works.
Manconi assumes his new role effective immediately.
Councillor Diane Deans, who chairs the City’s Transit Commission, says she is confident that Manconi will provide the leadership and support to the men and women of OC Transpo in the city’s quest to provide quality service to our riders.

It can only be an improvement. I wish Mr. Manconi all the best. It’s a hard situation to come into but his management experience with the city should help.
Good call Councillor Deans!

And when will details of the severance package be announced? Hopefully in time for the municipal & OCTranspo unions to get an escalatorwritten into their next ‘negotiations’ with Mayor Jim…
I disagree – re: John Manconi, it’s not a hard situation to come into when the mandate of this Mayor and Council seems just to get a new positive and trusting environment between the employer and the unionized employees. And just how do you do that – why, just give them everything they wanted and more – easy peasy – “Presto Chango” – here ATU279 why don’t we just give you the farm, and you guys be sure to communicate the new level of trust and cooperation and so will we, ok? !
Pretty shameful actually.
